Frequently asked questions

So far, we are now mainly producing plastic bags, plastic cups and packages. These products are easy to use and common in our daily life. But our product range is not limit in plastic, we can make biodegradable synthetic leather, biodegradable clothing, biodegradable marine equipment, and phone accessories etc. To check more of our biodegradable product, please check our website: www.en.pro-pac.co.kr/portfolio.

PBAST is a developed version of PBA and PBAT. PBA is Petroleum based biodegradable resin that can also degrade in the ocean. And PBAT is Petroleum based biodegradable resin that can also degrade quickly in nature.

PBAST is biodegradable resin developed with PROPAC's own technology. Unlike existing biodegradable material such as PBA and PBAT, PBAST is a material without adding PLA, it can be decomposed naturally at room temperature and humidity without a separate composting facility.

For more information, please check our website: https://en-pro-pac.co.kr/Resin.

Usually they will decompose in standard compost conditions within 180 days. However, the actual rate of biodegradation will depend on the temperature and humidity of compost pile. In our composting facilities, we provide the best circumstances for composting, our product is composted in 3~4 days.

For more information, please check our website: www.en.pro-pac.co.kr/composting.

Packaging or products featuring the OK compost INDUSTRIAL label are guaranteed as biodegradable in an industrial composting plant. This applies to all components, inks and additives. Owing to the comparatively smaller volume of waste involved, the temperature in a garden compost heap is clearly lower and less constant than in an industrial composting environment. This is why composting in the garden is a more difficult, slower-paced process.

Biodegradable plastic is plastic that’s designed to break up when exposed to the presence of microorganisms. It is generally made from plants (such as bamboo or sugarcane) rather than fossil fuels. The action of living organisms decomposes the biodegradable plastic into water, carbon dioxide, and biomass. It makes a life cycle from plants to plastic to soil, makes no ecological harm during the process.

Composting is a aerobic (oxygen-required) process that converts organic materials such as food scraps and compostable packaging into a nutrient-rich soil amendment or mulch through natural decomposition. Microorganisms feed on the materials added to the compost pile during the composting process. At the end of the process, we can get nutrient-rich soil that can help crops and trees to grow. Composting is nature’s way of recycling. It is one of the most powerful actions we can take to reduce our trash, address climate change, and build healthy soil.
